Perfect lie : Perfect life

 Picture Perfect

How many times, did you ever scroll on your phone on any social media app wether it is youtube, instagram or Tik Tok, and couldn't help but tell yourself "gosh I wish I had her life".

Personally, I've said that on multiple occasions, whether it was while I'm watching those aesthetic set up videos, or day in the life of high school student etc...

Their lives seem perfect within every aspect, the food they consume, the products they use, their styles, a great social position, supportive friends and family, overall steady and neat lives, that can't be achieved by the normal person unfortunately.

The main users of Social Media are undeniably teenagers, with screen times exceeding 10hours per day.
That addictive movement of scrolling and the dopamine they receive makes it hard to quit and focus on yourself and personal activities and development.

Some are very much aware of the situation and that what they see is only a 1% part of those influencer's lives, with top notch editing, music that makes the overall vibe enjoyable, taking the pleasing shots of their days to entertain the average teenager and make them aspire for such a lifestyle.

You can very much aspire for such a lifestyle, but you need to remember that you are a human, with human feelings and emotions, living a life with ups and downs.

You need to be aware that  you can feel sad and uncomfortable and you never know what you will encounter. You will always chase for the best, even though you are already living a comfortable life by any means. This situation can be applied for those who believe every ounce of media content they consume.

Real life is so much more than aestheticness, it is raw, full with genuine pure feelings and vibes, and if you genuinely aspire for a happy life, be grateful for every living moment.

If you feel overwhelmed by what you see on your little screen, if you feel vain and insecure about everything, you deserve a break. Once you disconnect from virtual reality, you feel much more better about yourself and you begin to appreciate what already have more.

And also, don't forget that we live in a consommation society, so the content pushed towards you is usually to make you buy stuff and get trapped in a hellish vicious cycle. They are getting paid for that, and you are getting quite manipulated.

You are not alone, in this situation. Many people are going through it. We got this though!

Picture perfect life, is a lie.
