Are teenagers today living an identity crisis...?

Let me clarify something before starting : I am a teenager myself, and I am writing my point of view as a teen.

I can assure you that all of us, are going through a phase, looking for ourselves and who we are, as a person.

We are living a transition period from childhood to adulthood.
Yesterday, we were only babies, and we were being guided by the older ones.
Tomorrow, we know we will be making our own decision and guide ourselves without supervision.

We do not know what we are considered as, today.

Some tell us : "come on man, you're too old for that, grow up!"
And others tell us : "look at you, you are still a baby!"

And oh lord, you can't imagine how much torn we feel at that moment.

When you are a teenager, you manifest changes in your body, the way you think, act and also, your choices.

When you are a teenager, you want to experience life. It's like as if you were a puppy thrown in a jungle called "the real world". You are simply curious.

This is our first time, in our short lives that we start thinking of ourselves as individuals, and how our so called "identity" will impact our future.

We are no longer those careless souls we were some time ago, only caring about the present, our toys, games and chocolate.

We become extremely sensitive and super self-conscious, and we are trying very hard to adapt ourselves to the society as emancipated people with our own ideologies, hopes and dreams.

In order to adapt to this society we are growing in, we try different attitude combinations, different styles, different activities, in order to build ourselves.
We are just like a puzzle, completing piece by piece. And that's where the term "identity crisis" joins the call.

Dear adults, in my opinion, we should not call it a "crisis".
You see, it is a pessimist word to qualify a normal life period. I would prefer "identity exploration", or "a search for the identity"...

We are just forming ourselves, to be responsible individuals for the future generations.

So let us try cothing styles, listen to all types of music, strike interest for diverse stuff until we find our comfort zone, and that so wished and looked for identity.
